Abstract:

Contains letters to Harlan and Madelyn Stelmach, including 3 letters from Barry Messer concerning resistance to the draft in 1968, and educational ventures at Sunnyvale and Santa Cruz, Calif. Also contains a postcard from "Dick"; 2 letters from "George" concerning Christmas holiday and possible teaching positions at the University of California, Santa Cruz and San Diego; and a letter from Jim Colborn concerning proposed cultural center in Phoenix.
Also contains miscellany relating to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1960s, including pamphlets and newspaper clippings relating to real estate interests of the Stelmach's, along with minutes, memos, budgets, and other ephemera related to Mission Rebels in Action, Inc., a San Francisco Mission District action group. Also includes publicity, fliers, clippings, and ephemera relating to the National Farm Workers Association, United Farm Workers of America, Farm Workers Press, the Independent Reform Association of San Francisco, and the Better Berkeley Committee (BBC), as well as material relating to People's Park and other Berkeley social protest events.
